Nigeria
Most populous and economically strongest country in Africa, with around 220 million inhabitants.
Boko Haram
An Islamist terrorist group in northern Nigeria aiming to establish an independent Islamic state.
Resource extraction
The most important sector of Nigeria's economy, especially focusing on crude oil, natural gas, coal, and gold.
Globalisation
The process of increasing worldwide interdependence between individuals, societies, institutions, and states in various areas such as economy, politics, culture, and environment.
Positive aspects of globalisation
Includes the spread of cultures, international trade, economic growth, and improved local infrastructure.
Negative aspects of globalisation
Includes climate change, unequal wealth distribution, and the exacerbation of income disparities.
Utopia
A place of ideal perfection, especially in laws, government, and social conditions.
Dystopia
An imagined world/society in which people lead dehumanized and miserable lives.
Gender inequality
The belief that men and women have different rights, often resulting in unequal pay and opportunities.
American Dream
The belief that everyone in the US can achieve success through hard work, regardless of background.
Civil Rights Movement
A significant effort to achieve equal rights and end racial segregation in the United States.
Feminism
The movement toward equality for women.
Sexism
Discrimination based on someone's sex.
Transgender
People whose gender identity does not match their sex assigned at birth.
Cisgender
Individuals whose gender identity corresponds with the sex they were assigned at birth.
Non-binary
Individuals who do not identify exclusively as masculine or feminine.
Global Citizenship
The idea that one's identity transcends geography or political borders and that responsibilities are shared across societies.
