Acts like a cleanser through the digestive system. Plant based foods such as seeds and fruit
What is protein + examples?
To build, repair and maintain body cells. Such as eggs and tofu
What are fats + examples?
Fuels body energy and main cell membranes. Monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, saturated and trans fats
What is Omega 3 and 6?
Omega 3 promotes elasticity of blood and vessels
Too much of Omega 6 increases risk of obesity
What is Vitamin C + food sources?
Helps form blood vessels, cartilage and muscles + collagen in bones. The body is unable to create and doesn’t last in the body for a long time.

Absorbs calcium from intestine to bloodstream. UV rays are converted to vitamin D in skin.

AKA folate required for cells to duplicate during periods of growth. In pregancy, helps avoid defects

What is the mineral Calcium?
Required for the building of bones and hard issue and is important in youth as they experience the greatest increase in bone density

Regulation of fluids in the body including water and blood. High levels draw excess fluid from cells.
