Personality
Long-standing traits and patterns that propel individuals to consistently think, feel, and behave in specific ways.

Openness
Imagination, feelings, action, ideas
Conscientiousness
Competence, self discipline, thoughtfulness and goal driven
Extroversion

Agreeableness
Cooperative, trustworthy and good-natured
Neurocriticism
Tendency toward unstable emotions
Biopsychosocial Model
A model that integrates biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding personality.
Trait Theories
Theories that define personality in terms of characteristic behaviors and internal dispositions.
Self-Report Inventories
Questionnaires that ask individuals to report their own behaviors and feelings to assess personality.
Projective Tests
Psychological tests that use ambiguous stimuli to reveal aspects of an individual's personality.
Ego
The rational part of the psyche that balances the demands of the id and superego.
Neuroticism
A personality trait characterized by emotional instability and anxiety.
Reciprocal Determinism
The idea that a person's behavior is influenced by personal factors and the social environment.
Internal Locus of Control
The belief that one has control over their own fate and outcomes.
External Locus of Control
The belief that chance or outside forces determine one’s fate.
Humanistic Theory
A psychological perspective emphasizing personal growth and the concept of self-actualization.
