Define Federalism
The principle of shared sovereignty, meaning power is divided between the federal (national) government and state governments

Any powers that aren’t delegated to the Federal Government.

Hyperpartisanship in the US is a political climate defined by extreme, unwavering allegiance to a political party, resulting in intense polarization and fierce, often gridlocked, disagreement between Democrats and Republicans.
Why is Bipartisanship a key feature of the US Constitution?
The Founding Fathers were sceptical about political parties but anticipated their impact
Therefore, they included requirements for bipartisanship throughout the constitution through the use of supermajorities
Forcing parties to work together, however this often leads to gridlock

A limited government is one that operates with restraints on its power, preventing it from becoming tyrannical
