Over 146 people died in this garment factory fire due to there being a lack of fire safety regulations, and they were packed inside. The factory owners went to trial and were found not guilty. This led to more safety laws, and change in the industries.

Electricity- allowed factories to stay open later. The telephone- allowed for better communication across the country. Railroads- allowed for better transportation of people and things across the country, faster.
