an academic and legal framework that denotes that systemic racism is part of American society

Vague definiton; could mean direct and indirect, veiled or overt, single or repeated, backed by authority, power or not, accompied by violence

Rapid breathing; headaches; heart rate; stroke

Fear; nightmares; withdrawal from society
Tangible and Economic Harms
Financial prospects and life oppurtunities; lower school GPA; fare poorly in employment;
Harms to the Perpetrator and to Society as a Whole
The hate speech doers are narrow minded; never develop impartial perspectives- maintains racist stigma in society
Anti-black hate speech
More serious than other hate speech; can’t change your race; race closer to ones personality; specific history
Other hate speech
Not as serious as race; doesn’t entail a dark history; can change physical appearances
Constitutional narratives/principles
Equality (hate speech offends values of equal citizenship
Free Speech (a ubiquitous right)
Both are in contrast with each other
