Europe is going through tons of trade and movements at this point in history. Tech starting to change along with the invention of the compass.

In 1492, the ocean blue. Aiming toward India for trade but ends up in America. The Columbian exchange started. (EX: Food, technology, and sadly viruses.)

They begin to implement a force system in labor. The Encomedia system. Which enslaved Natives for they can survive.

Jamestown. To strike rich. In 1607. Slavery becomes legal in 1965.

What did the settlers do to the Natives in Jamestown?

They attempt to enslave the Natives, who rebel, trying to grow tobacco since it is highly requested around this time, so they ran off. Settlers from other countries attempting to settle in the U.S. But they are forced to do labor for 7 years. Which strikes Bacon’s rebellion. So they burn Jamestown to the ground.

What is going on in the North and South around this time?

More industrialization; fishing becomes a popular form of earning money. Selling furs and lumber. Since industilaztion is happening so fast, it quickly develops into a civil war despite it being the early 1700s, this is one of the reasons as to why it happened.

The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the Constitution. We got it because of the anti-federalists, because they were scared of the rights of the average person. So, we added it and then they said the Bill of Rights.

What are the federalists and anti-federalists?

Federalists- Want the constitution, to be in favor of it

Anti- Do NOT want the Constitution and think that states’ rights should be stronger than the federal government. They want state rights.
