1. unconscious
2. apnoeic
3. pulseless

The cardiac pump model

Compressions cause the heart to beat

The thoracic pump model

CPR compression rate

100 - 120 bpm

CPR depth

**≥** 5cm / a third of chest

CPR recoil

FULL recoil

CPR ventilations

With defib: 1 every 15 compressions

WithOUT defib: 2 every 30 seconds

Shockable rhythms (2)

Ventricular fibrillation (VF)
