a sculptor who lived alone; made a lot of little clay statues of Aphrodite and made a marble statue sculpted after Aphrodite named Galatea; he loved Galatea so much that he asked Aphrodite to turn him to stone so he could be with the statue; Aphrodite turned Galatea to a human so he could marry her
Arachne
a great weaver who angered Athene; hanged herself because of how good Athene was; Athene turned her into a spider so she could weave forever and spiders are named after her
