Positive and Negative

How do consequences affect problem behavior? (Positive reinforcement)

Occurs when something a student desires is presented after appropriate behavior has been exhibited

Positve reinforcement example

The student interrupts frequently because each time the teacher gives him a leacture

Occurs when students engage in particular behavvior to avoid or escape something they dislike

Negative Reinforcement Example

Student melts down in the gym because in the past, it has results in removal from the gym
