Line 1
Now that we have found our balance and assed our burnout, lets talk how to maintain it in the long term. The key? Mindfulness! Mindfulness helps us recover, stay grounded, and continue to maintain our balance and assessment by allowing us to prioritize our well being.
Line 2
Mindfulness looks different for everyone - playing video games, catching up with friends, pursuing a hobby or watching your favorite TV show. These acts arent just rewards: they are acts that support your emotional and physical stability.
Line 3
Another important piece to mindfulness is self compassion. Maybe thats choosing an extra hour of sleep instead of late night cramming. Maybe its reminding yourself that “its okay that I didn’t finish everything I needed to today”. That grace towards yourself reinforces boundaries you set, preventing you from burning out as easily in the future.
Line 4
Staying present in the moment is a daily mindfulness habit that keeps tasks manageable and goals realistic. Instead of stressing ourselves out by worrying about everything we have to do later, focusing on what we can control and complete now can stop that spiral.
Line 5
Line 6
Without a doubt, burnout can cause us to be unproductive, leading us to believe that taking time to rest and give ourselves compassion only contributes to “giving into your burnout”. However, being burnt out is when these things matter the most. Rather than beating yourself down, remind yourself that “its okay not to be okay”. Your change in mindset is just as important as your change in action.
Line 7
Remember, recovering from burnout is not just a switch you can flip - its a journey of habit building, emotional exploration, and practice. And just like learning anything else, it takes time. Our best effort is what will get us out the deep end. Take each day a step at a time. By grounding yourself in the now, shifting your mindset, practicing self compassion and prioritizing rest, burnout will eventually be long behind you.
Line 8
Now, lets shift our focus from our minds to our pencils. Burnout is something everyone experiences, whether you realize it or not. In front of you is a piece of paper and a pen to write down some of your thoughts. Journalling is a great way to practice BAM!
