What is a Sacrament?

An outward sign instituted by Christ that gives Sanctifying Grace.

What is Sanctifying Grace?

God dwelling within us. We receive this Grace only when we receive the Sacraments.

What is Actual Grace?

God’s urging us, through persons, places, things and/or events to get us to the Sacraments.

What is a Sacramental?

Those persons, places, things and/or events God uses to motivate us to seek Him out in the Sacraments.

What are Proper Dispositions?

Our hearts and minds must be open to receiving Our Lord in the particular Sacrament we are desiring from Him.

What is the Sacramental Economy?

How Christ chooses to give us the Graces He obtained through His Paschal Mystery when we approach Him in the Sacraments.

What is the Hypostatic Union?

Jesus having two natures (Human & Divine) at the same exact time.

What is Human Nature?

Imperfect Intellect and Free Will.

What is Divine Nature?

Perfect Intellect and Perfect Will.

What does “In Persona Christi” mean?

“In the Person of Christ.” When the priest says Mass or hears Confessions, it is Christ Himself doing so.

What are the 4 Marks of the Church?

One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic.

What is Apostolic Succession?

The unbroken line of leadership passed down from the Apostles through their successors (bishops and popes).

What is the Communion of Saints?

The unity of the Church Triumphant (Heaven), Church Penitent (Purgatory), and Church Militant (Earth).

What are the Theological Virtues?

Faith, Hope, Love.
