What is the difference between Cerebral Concussion (MTBI) & Second Impact Syndrome?
Cerebral concussion is when the brain is jarred in the skull.
Second impact is after a second concussion occurs and the brain swells and bleeds
Differentiate injuries in which 911 will be initiated versus injuries in which 911 is not necessary.
Call 911: skull injires, hematomas, displaced facial fractures, large object in eye, severe bleeding, shock
Refer: Mild concussion, minor tooth injury, nasal fractures, carpal tunnel

What is the difference between epidural and subdural hematoma?
epidural involves arterial tear, skull and dura mater
subdural can be acute or chronic and os caused by venous bleeding, brain and dura mater
What is the difference between a tooth avulsion, tooth luxation, and tooth subluxation?
Subluxation: tooth is slightly loose in place
Luxation: tooth is visually shifted
Avulsion: tooth out of socket

Boutonniere: rupture of extensor tendon at Proximal Interphalangeal joint (middle knuckle sticks up)
Jersey finger: rupture of flexor digitorum profundus (4th finger)
What is the difference between carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervain’s Syndrome, and Dupuytren’s Contracture?
Carpal tunnel: compression of median nerve
De Quervians: inflammation of tendon sheaths at base of thumb
Dupuytrens: Thickening of tissue in palm, fingers stay flexed

What is the difference between thoracic outlet syndrome and brachial plexus stretch injury?

Brachial plexus stretch: Soft tissues (supraspinatus tendon or bursa) are squeezed or "pinched" under the acromion during overhead arm movements
