Short-Term Memory (STM)
Memory that holds information for a brief period, typically within one minute, after it is presented.
Chunking
The process where relatively small units of information are combined to form larger, more meaningful units.
Chunk
A new unit of memory formed through the process of chunking.
Encoding
The process of converting information into a suitable form for storage in memory.
Code
The specific format in which information is stored in memory after encoding.
