Dry eye

a disorder of the tear film due to tear deficiency or by excessive tear evaporation which causes damage to the interpalpebral ocular surface. It is associated with symptoms of ocular discomfort including burning, itching, and blurred vision. It can involve ocular surface inflammation which in severe cases can cause secondary keratitis, conjunctivitis, corneal ulceration, and corneal scarring which can lead to permanent vision loss.
