Hypothalamus

Links nervous system to endocrine system, regulates homeostasis, pleasure center

Thyroid Gland

Regulates metabolism, body heat, bone growth, lowers blood calcium

Parathyroid Glands

Increases blood calcium by breaking down bone

Adrenal Glands

Stress response, metabolism, blood pressure, water/salt balance

Pancreas

Regulates blood glucose (lowers with insulin, raises with glucagon)

Pineal Gland

Regulates sleep-wake cycle (circadian rhythms)

Thymus

Helps in T-cell development (immune function), most active in childhood

Ovaries

Regulates menstrual cycle, secondary sex characteristics, pregnancy

Testes

Sperm production, secondary sex characteristics
