Congress put a ban on future Chinese migration for 10 years and would renew the ban every 10 years. this lasted until 1943.

Why weren’t Chinese immigrants getting the same amount of support as other immigrants?

Chinese immigrants spoke different languages from the European immigrants and were mostly Confucianists. Even though they were great workers, Industries were hesitant to hire them because there weren’t as many of them compared to the Europeans.

Interstate Commerce Commission

A government body that watched over the railroads. It was was the first ever government protected business. Congress would give ICC power to give out cerise and desist orders.

Was the ICC affective? If not why?

NO, The ICC was ineffective because of they would hire retired railroad managers to work for it, and they would have a bias for the railroads allowing railroads to eventually sue and win. The Supreme Court would weaken them.

Sherman Anti-Trust act 

Made it illegal for large companies to form trusts, monopolies, or other combinations that restricted interstate trade and competition. They also compensated those affected by them compensation via “Triple Damages”.

When the Sherman Anti-Trust Act would compensate victims 3x the amount they lost from those big companies.
