What do free body diagrams show
All the forces acting on an object
What is the forward, backward, downward and upward force of an aeroplane
Forward- thrust
Backward- air resistance (drag)
Downward-weight
Upward - lift

What are all forces
Vectors
So each of force acting on anything(plane) has the have both magnitude and direction
What does the length and direction of each arrow on a free body diagram indicate
Length- magnitude
Direction-direction
What is a resultant force
The overall force acting on an object (taking into account all of the different forces acting on it)

What does it mean for the forces acting on an object to be in equilibrium
All forces acting on an object balance out
So no resultant force acting on it so the object is in equilibrium
