Like charges repel
Two charges with the same sign (both positive or both negative) exert a repulsive force on each other.
Repulsive force
A force that pushes two like charges apart.
Force exerted between charges
Each charge exerts a force on the other as a result of their electrostatic interaction.
Charge magnitude
The value of the charge (q) on a particle; determines the strength of the interaction.
Dependence on charge value
The electrostatic interaction depends on the magnitudes of the charges involved.
Positive charge (q > 0)
A charge with a positive value.
