Not drinking wine or strong drink nor fruit of the vine
No razor to head; long hair

Vow of consecration, choice to be set apart
A time commitment for the vow
A fast period
Intentional vow
Paired with a devotional focus and daily devotional discipline
Why Nazarite vow is biblical in light of Jesus commanding against vows or oaths?
Matt 5:33-37 refers to fulfilling your vow to the Lord and warns against making false or flippant vows
Nazarite vow is a sober transaction before the Lord to live a consecrated lifestyle and heart posture
Interpreting no oaths or vows is bad theology and poor exegesis; by that logic, marriage and fasting is unbiblical

Was Samson a lifelong Nazarite?
Yes, Judges 13:7 “but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. So then drink no wine or strong drink, and eat nothing unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death”
Difference between Nazarite vow vs Levitical priesthood?
priesthood was only for Levite men (compulsory)
nazarite vow could be taken by anyone in any tribe and either gender (voluntary)
