a compound that contains carbon and is found in living things. it is also usually bonded to hydrogen.

a compound that does not contain carbon and is associated with the non-living.

they have a sour taste, change the colour of indicators, generally contain hydrogen and conduct an electric current

they have a bitter taste, soapy feel and change the colour of indicators

the product when the hydrogen in an acid is replaced by a metal
