Concerto

A piece for a solo instrument and an orchestra.

Symphony

A large-scale piece for orchestra, usually in four sections.

Orchestra

Strings, Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion

Ornamentation

Where melodies are decorated (e.g. trills)

Scalic

Melodies that move in a scale  

Arpeggio

Melodies that move through the notes of a broken chord.

Imitation

Copying of music between parts

Canon

The repeating of the same music in a different part later on over the top of the original  

Polyphonic Textures

2 or more melodies at the same time 

Harmony Notes

notes that are part of the chord

Non-harmony Notes

Notes that are not part of the chord

Tonic and Dominant

1st and 5th degree/chord of the scale

Primary Chords

Chords I, IV, and V.
