What is the difference between a offline UPS, a line-interactive UPS and a on-line UPS

Offline UPS: This is usually the cheapest option for UPS. This UPS waits for the power to go out before kicking on to give power to devices still until power is restored.

Line-Interactive UPS: If a brownout happens and device begin to lose wattage and/or voltage, this UPS will supply the devices with power to ensure they stay on until the brownout is restored.

On-line UPS: Most datacenters prefer these because the power is coming from the battery power itself. The battery power is constantly being refreshed from the main power. So, if the main power goes out, it doesn’t affect your system as it’s still running off battery power.
