‘quested’ → makes the snake be seen as a hero, this contrasts stereotypes. allusions to fairy tales - noble, knightly. personified
‘parting grass’ → personification, allusion to the parting of the red sea, shows it’s importance and royalty
‘diamond’ → diamond cannot be cut, shows the snakes strength and power and rarity.
