Amendment 1

Guarantees freedoms of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.

Amendment 2

Protects the right to keep and bear arms.

Amendment 3

Prohibits the quartering of soldiers in private homes without consent.

Amendment 4

Protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Amendment 5

Protects the right to due process, prohibits self-incrimination and double jeopardy.

Amendment 6

Guarantees the right to a fair and speedy trial, an impartial jury, and legal counsel.

Amendment 7

Guarantees the right to a jury trial in civil cases and prevents re-examination of facts tried by jury.

Amendment 8

Prohibits excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel and unusual punishment.

Amendment 9

Affirms that the enumeration of certain rights in the Constitution does not deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Amendment 10

Reserves powers not delegated to the federal government to the states or the people.
