Autism (AUT)
A developmental disability affecting communication, social interaction, and behavior.
Deaf-Blindness (DB)
Combined hearing and vision impairments causing severe communication and developmental needs.
Deafness (DEAF)
Severe hearing loss that impacts language development and learning.
Emotional Disturbance (ED)
Emotional or behavioral difficulties that interfere with learning over a long period.
Hearing Impairment (HI)
Hearing loss (not deafness) that affects educational performance.
Intellectual Disability (ID)
Significantly below-average intellectual functioning and deficits in adaptive behavior.
Multiple Disabilities (MD)
Two or more disabilities occurring together causing significant educational needs.
Orthopedic Impairment (OI)
Physical disability that affects movement and learning.
Other Health Impairment (OHI)
Chronic health condition that limits strength, alertness, or attention.
Specific Learning Disability (SLD)
Difficulty in specific academic areas not due to other causes.
Speech or Language Impairment (SLI)
Communication disorder affecting speech, language, or fluency.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Brain injury from an external force affecting cognition or behavior.
Visual Impairment (VI)
Vision loss that affects learning, even with correction.
