Mass Wasting
refers to the downslope movement of rock and soil because of gravity
Landslide
a ground movement on a sloping terrain
Landslide
induced by rain because water is a natural agent for erosion
Landslide
It does not happen on flat ground because of the angle on the ground, gravity induces the land to move downward
Soil creep
a very slow downslope movement of particles that occurs in every slope covered with loose, weathered material
Slumping
downward movement of rock debris typically caused by the removal of supporting material at the base of a slope which is composed of loose material
Debris Flow
happens when the slope becomes saturated with water, this then triggers a landslide of water-soaked mass of rock and soil that slides down the slope.
Rock Fall
are sudden slides caused by heavy rain the rock on the slope loosens and then slides down the slope
Mudslide
type of debris flow that is primarily composed of wet, saturated soil and fine particles
Avalanche
a rapid downslope movement of snow, ice, and debris, often triggered by factors like heavy snowfall, weather changes, or human activities
