Resilience

the ability to recover after a disturbance; the ability to deal with change and move on

Resistance

the ability for an ecosystem to remain unchanged when being subjected to a disturbance or disturbances

Ecological succession

series of gradual changes that happen in a community after a disturbance

Tolerance

ability of an organism to survive and reproduce under circumstances that differ from their optimal conditions

Keystone species

a single species that has an especially strong effect on an entire ecosystem
