• Small for greater mobility

• Bones of the palm of the hand

Phalanges

• Bones of the fingers

  • 2 in thumb 3 in fingers

• Bones of the toes

  • 2 in the first toe 3 in others

• Provide attachment of the lower extremities to the axial skeleton

Ischium

• Inferior and posterior section of the coxal bone

Pubis

• Inferior and anterior section of the coxal bone

Femur

• Thigh bone

• Longest bone

• Connects to the coxal bone

Patella

• Knee cap

• Floats in a tendon

Tibia

• Shin bone

• Medial lower leg bone

Fibula

• Lateral lower leg bone

Tarsals

• Bones of the ankle and posterior foot

Calcaneus

• Heel bone and largest tarsal
