• carries deoxygenated blood from liver to heart

hepatic portal vein

• blood from intestines/digestive system to liver.

• rich in amino acids

• many mitochondria for ATP.

• golgis and large nucleus: synthesise and secrete large number of molecules (proteins)

• undergo aerobic respiration

Blood movement from hpv and ha to hv

• O2 rich blood from hepatic portal vein and hepatic vein mix and move down sinusoid.

• O2/AA diffuse into hepatocytes.

• reaches hepatic vein and carried to heart.

Kupfer cells

• macrophages that ingest any foreign material passing down sinusoid.

bile duct

• transports bile that was secreted from hepatocytes to gall bladder.
