A casual reference to something. Example: Star crossed lovers, good samaritan.
Conflict
Struggle between opposing forces (antagonist and protagonist).
Connotation
Other related meanings attached to a word or term. Example: when speaking about a pet, the word 'dog' has a neutral connotation; but, the word 'mutt' has a negative connotation.
Denotation
Precise meaning. Example: home is the place you live (literal).
Denouement
Unraveling events following the climax; the final part of a literary work (such as a novel, play, or film) occurring after the climax and falling action.
