Second Battle of Manassas (Lead up)
On June 26, 1862, Lincoln combined the beaten forces from the Shenandoah Campaign (the three armies Jackson destroyed in the Valley Campaign before marching to Richmond) to form the Army of Virginia. He placed the new army under the command of John Pope.
