Scientific Method

Observation

Using the five senses to note anything that one sees around them. There is no inference involved. There are no assumptions as well.

Problem

This is the part of the experiment where the scientist states the concern being tackled.

Hypothesis

an educated guess regarding a situation. This is a supposition or explanation made on the basis of some evidence as a starting point for further experimentation.

Experiment

is a procedure carried out with the objective of checking, countering, or establishing the truth of a hypothesis. Provides information about relationships by showing different outcomes when a variable is changed.

Control group

the group without any modifications; a standard group

Experimental group

the group with a variable altered to see the effects of the alteration

Control/Constant Variables

remains constant all throughout the experiment.

Independent/Manipulated Variables

changed by the experimenter. Used to elicit the product or outcome that you need.

Dependent/Responding Variables

changed as a result of changing the independent variable.

Conclusion

This is the process of stating the outcome of an experiment based on logic and reasoning. It's based on all the factors of the experiment, the results, and the data gathered. Could also be absolute or subject to further verification depending on the circumstances of the outcome.
