Black Legend
Started by De Las Casas, the idea that the Spanish were unusually cruel. This justified other Europeans to conquer the Americas to “save” the natives.
Pueblo Revolt
Pueblo natives temporarily joined forces to drive out Spanish. The Spanish eventually reconquer with more religious tolerance.
