Metal

A pure chemical element found in the periodic table, typically solid at room temperature, that conducts electricity and heat, and is malleable and ductile.

Alloy

A mixture of two or more elements with at least one metal, created to enhance the properties of pure metals and typically stronger than pure metals.

Ferrous metal

Metals that contain iron, are magnetic, have low corrosion resistance, and are heavier and denser.

Non Ferrous metal

Metals that do not contain iron, are non-magnetic, have high corrosion resistance, and are lighter and less dense.

Blast furnace
