Blast furnace

-A blast furnace is a high-temperature reactor used to extract iron from its ore. Iron ore, coke, and limestone are added at the top, while hot air is blasted from the bottom. The coke burns as fuel and helps extract iron, producing molten iron (pig iron) and slag as by-products.

Basic oxygen furnace

-high-purity oxygen is blown into molten iron oxidizing iimpurities like carbon, silicon, and phosphorus. These impurities form slag or are released as gases, leaving behind high-quality steel.
