• They originally managed farms and had livestock.

• Eventually, deforestation and overgrazing of animals.

• The Vikings adapted to include seafood in their diet as the seasons changed. Seal consumption increased to 80% of their diet.

It went downhill…

• Ship vessels stopped coming to Greenland ports.

• Islanders were cut off from sources of iron and tools needed for their farms.

• They eventually ate their livestock.

• Disease brought down the human population.

The change in climate caused all of this!!!
