Spherocyte
Spherical red blood cells with no central pallor, associated with hereditary spherocytosis and immune hemolytic anemia.
Stomatocytes
Red blood cells with a mouth-shaped central pallor, related to alcohol excess, alcoholic liver disease, and hereditary stomatocytosis.
Schistocyte
Fragmented red blood cells resembling a helmet, associated with microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, burns, and DIC.
Ovalocyte
Oval or elongated shaped red blood cells, often seen in thalassemia major, sickle cell anemia, and hereditary ovalocytosis.
Elliptocyte
Oval or elliptical shaped red blood cells with the long axis being twice the short axis.
Blister Cells
Red blood cells with an eccentric vacuole, resembling a handbag.
Keratocytes
Red blood cells with horn-like projections, associated with hereditary elliptocytosis, megaloblastic anemia, iron deficiency, thalassemia, and myelofibrosis.
Microangiopathic Hemolytic Anemia
Condition characterized by small blood vessel occlusion leading to fragmentation of red blood cells.
