New England Colonies
A subset of the thirteen colonies, it included the Province of Massachesuetts Bay Colony, Connecticut Colony, Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, and Province of New Hampshire, and other smaller and short-lived colonies. It is a largely puritan region.

Popham Colony
A colony established by Plymouth Company in 1607 and backed financially by John Popham, a couple months after Jamestown. It was abandoned 14 months later in 1608 because of a lack of leadership, John Pophams dying, and there storehouse burning down. The first ship built in America was built here.

A colony established by the English Pilgrims, or seperatists, 1620. It was the second permanent English colony in America, after the Jamestown Colony. It merged with the Massauchetts Bay Colony and other territories in 1691 to form the Province of Massauchetts Bay.

A colony established by John Mason in 1629, it merged with the Massachusetts Bay colony in 1641,and then it became a royal colony in 1679. New Hampshire was the first colony to later break away from British rule and declare themselves independent in the American Revolution. It became one of the originial thirteen U.S states as New Hampshire.
