AP Physics I Syllabus Notes

Objects and systems

Can have properties such as mass and charge.

Internal structure

Refers to the types and arrangement of various objects within a system.

Fields

Areas where points in space/time are affected by a force, explaining interactions.

Forces

Something that alters or maintains the motion of an object or system, describing interactions.

Interactions

Can change specific systems, which are groups of objects.

Conservation laws

State that specific properties of specific systems do not change over time during interactions.

AP Exam date

Scheduled for May 16th, 2025.

Absences policy

Teacher must be notified of any absences.

Misbehavior warnings

Students receive two warnings before removal from class.

Integrity in assignments

Students are expected to avoid plagiarism and other dishonest practices.

On-time work submission

Required unless a student is both sick and absent.

Late work policy

Students have one week to submit work for full credit if absent due to illness.

Known absences

Students should complete assignments ahead of time.

Retake policy

Available only for scores below 65% on assessments.

Retake process

Student must initiate, remediate, and complete within a week; highest grade is 65%.

Grading categories

Homework (10%), Classwork (25%), Quizzes/Labs (30%), Tests/Projects (35%).
