What is the diencephalon?
The central core of the forebrain entirely surrounded by cerebral hemispheres, connected to the midbrain and contains the 3rd ventricle.
What structures make up the diencephalon?
Thalamus 2) Hypothalamus 3) Epithalamus 4) Subthalamus.
What is the function of the thalamus?
Acts as a relay station for all sensory inputs (except smell) to the cerebral cortex and also relays motor information.
Where is the thalamus located?

What are the main functions of the hypothalamus?
