Enabled the president to regulate banking transactions and foreign exchange and to reopen solvent banks

Prohibited use of gold for domestic purposes only, so gold coins became collectors items

Enabled citizens on the verge of losing their homes to refinance them at a cheap interest rate and long payback period, thus reducing mortgage payments
Soil Conservation/ Domestic Allotment Act
A partial replacement of the first AAA, this paid farmers to rotate their crops, let their land lie fallow, or to plant soil-conserving crops like soybeans
Public Works Administration
They spend $4 B on projects, including building public buildings, highways, parkways, and even Grand Coulee Dam
Resettlement Administration
This administration enabled farmers who owned poor land to move to better land
Unemployment Relief Act (CCC)
Favorite program of FDR. It Enlisted 3 M young men to work on various building, conservation, and reclamation
Agricultural Adjustment Act
This program encouraged farmers to restrict growing some crops like cotton or wheat. Those who complied were given subsidies. The tax on processors was declared unconstitutional, and the law was voided
Civil Works Administration
This was created during a bad winter to ensure that citizens had temporary menial jobs, like raking leaves, and other make work programs
Federal Emergency Relief Act
This was the only dole New Deal program where $3 B was given to states to give to people directly during a bad winter in 1933
Works Progress Administration
This act spent $11 B on building public buildings.
Resettlement Administration
Originally declared unconstitutional, this law enabled farmers not to have to foreclose on their mortgages for 5 years. A rewritten version gave farmers a grace period of 3 years
Fair Labor Standards Act
Established a minimum wage, plus a minimum age limits
Court-packing plan
Would allow FDR to add one justice to the Supreme Court for eache one on the bench over 70. FDR's goal was to cancel the ultra-conservative bent on the bench, but Congress didn't agree
Beer and wine revenue act
With prohibition imminent, this legalized light wine and beer, not to exceed 3.2% in alcohol, and taxd $5 on every barrel
Tennessee Valley Authority Act
This created a seven-state, federally run agency which build dams to control flooding, enhance conservation, etc. Fed. gvmt became wholesaler of electricity to private power firms.
Glass-Steagall Act (FDIC)
Outlawed banks from selling stocks or loaning money for the purchase of stocks. It ensured that depositors funds were insured for up to 5000 per account
National Labor Relations Act/Board
Also known as the Wagner Act, this enabled the host of unskilled workers the power to unionize and use collective bargaining.
Hatch Act
Barred Federal Administrative officials from political campaigning and soliciting; banned the use of gvmt funds for political purposes and the collection of campaign contributions
Indian Reorganization Act
Act enabled tribes to establish local self-gvmt, preserve preserve native crafts and traditions, regain their identity and culture, and even regain land.
Federal Securities Act
Created to police the stocks and bonds markets, ensuring that citizens were buying what was advertised and any fraud or other illegal activities were sought out and punished.
Social Security Act
This act, subsidized by taxes paid by employees and employers equally, created a trust fund to be used as pensions for senior citizens, and others.
Securities and Exchange Commission
Gave the federal gvmt. the ability to regulate the stocks and bonds markets
