Birth defect resulting in complete absence of an arm or leg

Total absence of cells leading to incomplete formation of limbs or organs, mostly affects the fibula, radius, and ulna. Occurs in two ways, distal end of a bone is missing or entire bone is missing

Proximal portions of limbs are poorly developed or missing altogether
