Wesleyan Quadrilateral
A theological method emphasizing Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience.
Regula Fidei
Rule of Faith; emphasizes the Trinitarian foundation (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).
Council of Nicaea (AD 325)
Addressed the Trinitarian issue initiated by Arius, affirming that the Son and Father have the same nature (homoousion).
Council of Constantinople (AD 381)
Affirmed the Nicene Creed and further discussed the Holy Spirit's divinity.

Canonicity

Transcendence
God is almighty and stands apart from creation, not depending on it.
Immanence
God is engaged with creation and present in time and space.

God's governance over the world.

How the universe began.
Young Earth Creationism
God created the Earth thousands of years ago appearing as an old earth.
Old Earth Creationism
God created Earth progressively over billions of years, with Adam and Eve created more recently.
Evolutionary Creation
God created the earth through evolution.
Apollinarianism
Argues Jesus was fully divine but only had a human body.
Nestorianism
The divine son and human Jesus are distinct.
Filioque
And the Son; a point of debate regarding the Holy Spirit in the Eastern and Western Churches.

Humanity possessible image.
Functional View (of Human Nature)
God creates humans in His image, so they may rule over his creation as stewards.
Original Sin
Sin of Adam.
Total Depravity
Every part of humanity is affected by sin.
Salvation/Redemption
How God fixed what sin broke.
Monergism
God's will alone effects salvation.
Synergism
Divine and human wills work together in salvation.
Exclusivism
Only those who have faith in Jesus are saved.
Inclusivism
Salvation is possible through Christ without explicit knowledge.
Pluralism
All religions are equal paths to salvation.
Annihilationism
Punishment is real, but those separated from God are eventually destroyed.
Universalism
All will be reconciled with God.
Eschatology
The study of the end times.
