Measures of Position
a measure by which the position of data is determined through its value
Quartiles
are values which divide a list of ordered numbers into 4 equal parts.
denoted by Q1, Q2, and Q3
Quartile Formula
1st Quartile (Q1)
the middle value between the smallest value and the median
2nd Quartile (Q2)
median of the data
3rd Quartile (Q3)
is the middle value between the median and the highest value
Deciles
are values that divide the date set into 10 equal parts.
which are denoted by D1, D2, D3, …, D9
Percentile
divide the data set into 100 equal parts
denoted as P1, P2, P3, and P99
Class Interval
is the numerical width of any class in a distinct distribution.
it is the difference between the upper and lower class limit
Upper Class Limit
is the highest value of the class interval
Lower Class Limit
is the lowest value of the class interval
Frequency
is the number of times a particular value appears in a set of data
