Potential Energy (Eₚ)
Energy possessed by an object due to its position or condition. Calculated as Eₚ = mgh, where m is mass, g is gravitational field strength, and h is vertical height.
Work
Energy transfer that occurs when a force causes an object to move. Calculated as work done = force applied × distance moved in the direction of the force.
Kinetic Energy (Eₖ)
Energy possessed by an object due to its motion. Calculated as Eₖ = 1/2 mv², where m is mass and v is speed.
Work Done (W)
The energy transferred when a force moves an object over a distance. Calculated as W = Fs, where F is force and s is distance. Measured in joules (J).
Power (P)
The rate at which work is done or energy is transferred. Calculated as Power = Work Done / Time Taken or Power = Energy / Time. Measured in watts (W) or joules per second (J/s).
