Stagecraft Laboratory Requirement
A practical assignment requiring each student to complete 60 hours of work as a Wardrobe Crew member for one mainstage production.
Course Grading Breakdown
The evaluation criteria consisting of Production Crew (60%), Sewing and Styling Projects (20%), Tests/Quizzes/Written Responses (15%), and Attendance, In-Class Participation and Completion of Tasks (5%).
Late Homework Policy
A policy where ten points are deducted per day from the project grade for late assignments, and work past 1 week late is not accepted.
Final Project Late Policy
Final Projects will not be accepted late under any circumstances, and students must be physically present in attendance to present them.
Crew Work Call Absence Penalty
A policy docking a student 1/2 a letter grade level for every hour they are absent from a mandatory crew work call.
Mandatory Crew Event Absence Penalty
A 50-point deduction from the final grade for failing to attend mandatory events such as Theatrical Intimacy Training, Tech-Talk, or Run-Through.
Wardrobe Crew Dress Code Penalty
A 10-point FINAL grade deduction applied each time a student fails to wear required professional, comfortable, and safe all-black clothing (shirt, pants, and shoes) for show run calls.
Make-up Laboratory Hours Policy
Professor pre-approved make-up hours created for extreme emergency or illness, capped at a maximum of 10 hours outside of tech and show run, which must be completed by December 4th.
Course Absence Policy
A policy allowing up to two excused absences per course without penalty; subsequent absences in a once-per-week course lower the final grade by two levels (e.g., B+ becomes B-).
Lateness Policy
Arrival up to 10 minutes late is marked as lateness, arrival after 15 minutes counts as an absence, and 2 instances of lateness equal 1 absence.
Transformative Justice
A collection of methods designed to give communities autonomy over social systems and challenge systems of racism, sexism, and oppression in academic and theatre spaces.
Body Talk Policy
A departmental guideline specifying that theatre faculty will not engage in conversations with students about diet, nutrition, or weight maintenance to prevent unintentional harm.
Policy on Production Photography
A prohibition on taking personal images or recordings during rehearsals, technical rehearsals, or performances unless approved for an explicit production need by the director and Professor Lori Zepp.
Costume Space Food and Drink Rule
A rule stating that no food or drink is allowed in the shop, with the exception of closed containers of water.
Stagecraft Passing Requirement
A departmental rule stating that students must pass Stagecraft and complete their laboratory hours in order to earn a degree in Theatre.
