Why did Martin Luther make the 95 Theses?
Because the Pope was asking for money to make a building project. He despised the idea of indulgences and called it “false salvation”.
What was the Great Schism?
A big dispute between the churches of Rome, France, and Avignon. Basically what happened was people elected two popes and they both competed. As if that wasn’t enough, they elected another Pope. For the next 40 years they called each other imposters and excommunicated each other.
