Macbeth is overcome with guilt immediately after killing Duncan, he hears voices and is very on edge. In contrast, Macbeth remains calm and collects herself. She’s unbothered and annoyed w/ her husband.

act 1 summary
witches hail Macbeth as thane of Cawdor and Banquo kids will sit on throne, Macbeth gets ambitions to kill king Duncan
act 2 summary
Macbeth has doubt abt killing king, but talks himself into it and follows through. He freaks out so Lady Macbeth finishes job by wiping blood on drunk guards. next morning Macduff & Lennox arrive Macbeths and MacDuff find body. Guards get suspisous, so MB kills them—Malcom(England) & Dnalbain(Ireland) flee the city.
act 3
banquo suspects MB of murder. MB hires murders to kill Banquo. Bq is murdered but Fleance escapes. Ghost of Bq appears at the banquet (only Macbeth can see it). he freaks out and Lady Macbeth tries to cover it up by saying he does it all the time. Mcduff is suspicious of MB so he goes to england for help and didn’t attend banquet
act 4
MB confronts Wiches and they show him more visions. this leads him to think he isn’t liked by anyone. He plans to have murders go to McDuff castle(In England) to kill his family. Meanwhile, Mcduff is in England trying to get Malcolm to Scotland and return the throne. He agrees to wage war against Mcbeth.
act 5
LM has a lot of guilt for the murders. She is now a “scared child”. Dctors are unable to help her (sleepwalking). Scottish lrds discus MB state of mind and agree to help McDuff and Malcom fight McBeth. MB isnt scared cause he thinks he cant be killed by a man born from a women. MB confronts MD and learns MD was ripped from his mothers side(c-section). MB becomes rightful king of scotland.
