Neutrophil
A type of leukocyte that performs phagocytosis and increases during acute bacterial infections.
Monocyte
A type of leukocyte involved in phagocytosis, increasing in number during chronic bacterial infections.
Eosinophil
A type of leukocyte that ingests antigen-antibody complexes and increases during allergic reactions.
Basophil
A leukocyte containing histamine and heparin granules that stimulates the inflammation response.
Lymphocyte
A type of leukocyte that produces antibodies.
Universal Donor
Blood type O- which can donate to any blood type.
Universal Recipient
Blood type AB+ which can receive blood from any type.
Agglutinogen
A substance that can induce an immune response; typically refers to antigens on the surface of red blood cells.
Antibody
A protein produced by B lymphocytes that binds to a specific antigen.
Phagocytosis
The process by which a cell engulfs and digests particles or pathogens.
